From 7pm-10pm in the lounge of Aurea, the Berklee School of Music grad will take the stage weekly for guests of Renaissance. With the guitar, bass, piano, voice, and an array of other instruments at Justin’s disposal, he’s bound to be a hit at the San Fran property. He’s played with world-renowned artists like Amy Winehouse, Tiger Okoshi, and Sonya Kitchell.
Swing by one Friday and see him. You can grab some stone fruit mojitos, alongside the hotel’s signature Dungeness crab and rock shrimp cakes, while you catch his show.
San Francisco is no stranger to top notch cuisine, warranting little speculation as to why the NYC-based Bromberg Brothers were bringing their Blue Ribbon cookbook launch to the city by the Bay for a celebration at one of our very own properties- The Renaissance Stanford Court.
The buzz of the night, besides the fine wine and exceptional fare, was the property’s Fornou’s Ovens which served as one of the brothers’ first cooking inspirations- sparking a career of successful culinary ventures and satisfied palates. The brothers’ strong personal attachment to the property served as the perfect ingredient to the event, definitely making it one for the (cook)books.

San Franciscan’s will remember December 14, 2009 as the day that the 49ers beat the Cardinals. It was a nationally viewed Monday Night game. Frank Gore rushed for his second highest yardage of the season. The 49er defense forced 7 turnovers by the Cardinals. It was a momentous night for the bay area.
And to top it off, local heroes and a Renaissance Hotel favorite, Train peformed live at half-time providing added entertainment to the already electrified stadium — just one of their stops on their tour of the local bay area. The other stop? Renaissance’s historic Stanford Court Hotel. The band made this hotel their home base during their stay where a few lucky fans and some surprised guests were able to meet the whole crew including their lead singer Pat Monahan, guitarist Jimmy Stafford and drummer Scott Underwood.

When it comes to music, Los Angeles natives (Los Angelenos, thank you very much) seem to think their city is the center of the world. But this year, Train is taking the spotlight a bit further to the north with their new hit album “Save me San Francisco.”
Watch the first video “Hey Soul Sister” above.
Train will be performing live in San Francisco December 14th. Stay tuned for information on how you can win a chance to attend meet-and-greet with the band at The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel.
Remember those shaky home films you used to show at family events? You felt like an auteur when you made them – and a little seasick after you viewed them later.
Those days are soooooooooo over.
Now, any Scorscese wannabe with an iPhone (or Google Android, or Blackberry) can make a great, quality short film. And there’s a place to showcase them – MoFilm, a community for people who love being creative with their mobile devices.
Even big-shot filmmakers like as Robert Redford, Kevin Spacey, Spike Lee, Isabella Rossellini are getting in on it. Check out mofilm.com (or download the MoFilm app from iTunes) and see what’s been submitted. Look below to see who won for Renaissance:
