It’s one thing to like Maxwell’s music. But to be a fan, a true fan, takes more devotion than just liking the guy’s music. RoseAda Watts from Cleveland, Ohio, is a true fan of Maxwell. She’s also the winner of “The Renaissance of Cool” sweepstakes. Watts and her boyfriend are being flown out to catch the Maxwell show in NYC. They’ll be put up at the Renaissance New York Times Square and receive VIP tickets to the concert and afterparty.
She was, of course, happy to get the news that she’s the contest winner. “I’m so excited and thankful to be the winner of this contest!” said Watts, eager to pack her bags for the trip.

My hometown. Arrived very early in the morning. Thank GOD the Renaissance Grand allowed us to have an early check in. And the hotel was just what the doctor ordered. Not to mention, a great concierge. Wow! This woman named Ruth, gave some us some good old-fashioned hospitality. There is nothing like walking into a welcoming hotel, looking at the friendly face (of a woman) when you’ve been on a long a** road trip with a bunch of damn men for hours and hours.
Every Renaissance that I’ve had the pleasure of staying in welcomes you with a lobby that’s sexy, warm and cleaner than women in their hats at the Kentucky Derby. And I need that – to get my mind right because when perform in your hometown, the guest list starts to look like Santa’s gift list. Everyone has crab hands, clawing for tickets.
After getting settled and diving into an never disappointing menu @ any Renaissance, but The Grand was off the hook!! I couldn’t decide what to delight my palate with so I had an array of too much.

Maxwell’s tour is keeping the singer busy traveling. Maxwell brought his BLACKsummers’night flavor to the Blackstone on Tuesday for an intimate concert after party.
The sultry singer, who will be staying at Renaissance hotels throughout his tour, hunkered down at the elegant Renaissance Chicago Blackstone to chat with hotel guests, grab some post-show grub and snap photos with fans. (The ladies definitely were not shy as you can see)
Comedian Guy Torry provided the laughs and Maxwell’s band was in the house until the wee hours of the night. The Grammy-winner wished he could’ve stayed longer, but with 30 more tour dates ahead it was all soda water and sleep.

Maxwell has been a well-recognized name in R&B music for a long time. The singer took several years off from his music career before releasing BLACKsummer’snight last summer. After receiving six nominations for the 2010 Grammy Awards, Maxwell has been gearing up for a tour that will keep him busy through July. The tour is being sponsored by Renaissance Hotels and kicks off today in Cleveland.
