Angel Taylor, a break out artist under the umbrella of Columbia Records, kicked off her current tour February 4th in Seattle. The internet is buzzing with raving reviews from the performances since and without any further ado, I have a message for the Northeast: Clear your schedules for this weekend or be forever disappointed in yourself. Angel will be hitting New York Saturday the 13th, Boston on the 14th, and D.C. on the 15th. Not only are these concerts free and open to the public at the respective Renaissance Hotels, but this girl can belt out a note or two about love…if you’re picking up what I’m putting down, you’ll pencil Angel Taylor into your Valentine’s Day weekend.
Renaissance New York Hotel 57 hosted a private event for our top group customers and Maya Azucena Band brought the house down with her soulful performance. For more information on this Grammy winning artist who has shared the stage with Roberta Flack, Joss Stone, Platinum Pied Pipers, and John Legend among others, check out her myspace page. She’s one of many hidden gems that Renaissance seeks from time to time to share with you, our guests.

Here’s more live concert footage on the rooftop of Renaissance New York Hotel 57 with the stunning Chrysler Building as a backdrop at the September 17th Renaissance New York/Paris launch party. See for yourself why the police almost shut down the party according to NME music blog.
“People came out on to balconies and roof terraces around the block and started waving and dancing along. The lighting man started using the lights as searchlights, felt like some Batman behaviour. This was a once in a lifetime party,” he (Mr Hudson) said of the New York Fashion Week show at the Renaissance Hotel.
“The police turned up halfway through the set. The actual police, not the band – though I believe Sting lives nearby. Someone must’ve complained so they repeatedly ordered our soundman Pete to turn the system off, but being an original gangster he just shook his head and turned it up! Thanks Pete. I owe you one.”
