Congratulations to 1500° for being the only restaurant in Florida named to Esquire magazine’s prestigious list of Best New Restaurants of 2011! This hotly anticipated list was carefully curated by renowned food and wine author John Mariani, who gushed about the Eden Roc Renaissance’s farm-to-table restaurant on Miami Beach.
“It’s big, it’s splashy, it’s got a poolside patio and a faux-zebra-fabric banquette — you sit there wondering when the Guess photo shoot is going to start,” wrote Mariani, who compared the grilled-peach salad with blue cheese, candied pecans, and honey vinaigrette to the famously sweet Esther Williams, the classic Hollywood synchronized swimmer who performed in the pools of South Beach.

Sequins and short hemlines ran abundant at The Real Housewives of Miami premiere party at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach last week. As the seventh installment of the Bravo series, the Miami season follows suit with a high-profile cast: Larsa Pippen (wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen), Cristina Rice (clothing store owner and ex-wife of basketball player Glen Rice), Lea Black (philanthropist and wife of attorney Roy Black), magazine editor Alexia Echeverria, PR maven Marysol Patton, and art dealer Adriana De Moura.
As to why Miami was picked as the latest location, Bravo exec Andy Cohen told the Miami Herald, “Miami has got a touch of the O.C. and something else. It was a no-brainer.”
Just judging by Black says in the opening credits (“I care about a lot of things; what others think of me isn’t one of them”), fire up the DVR—it’s gonna be a good season.

Super Bowl season brings out the chanting, standing–not sitting–in the bleachers, beer-drinking, pizza-eating fanatic in all of us. Along with the Super Bowl season comes its inevitable parties, and Eden Roc Renaissance in Miami is the only place to party this year.
Starting Thursday, February 4th and lasting through Super Bowl Sunday, Eden Roc Renaissance will be partying non-stop with elebrity-hosted charity events, an official launch party, performances by artists like Wyclef, Jordin Sparks, and Snoop Dogg, and a celebrity poker charity game with Russell Simmons.
Check out the schedule of events after the jump. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to Haiti relief efforts.

Papermag.com talks to famed architect Morris Lapidus about the fabulously designed Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach. “At Eden Roc, I want people to come in and fall on their backs,” he says.
Whether it’s because of frequent celeb sighting or because of his fab, jaw-dropping design that Eden Roc has become the hotspot of Miami Beach, we’re not quite sure. Either way, mission accomplished, Mr. Lapidus.
