Like you, Renaissance cares about water usage, energy consumption and sustainable practices, which is why we’re always striving to be environmentally responsible. Looks like our efforts paid off: Renaissance Schaumburg was recently awarded the 2010 Conservation and Native Landscaping Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Chicago Wilderness.

With over seven and a half acres of ponds, wetlands, and prairie plantings surrounding the hotel, Renaissance Schaumburg’s foliage was specifically selected to trap pollutants, clean storm water, and reduce runoff. And thanks to the sustainability of these plants, the use of herbicides has been cut in half, maintenance hours have been reduced by one third, and watering is at a minimum.

We’re proud of how we do things around here. Imagine how much better off we’d be if every hotel out there made these changes.
