Dean James Max, a chef who’s been dubbed the “Best Chef in South Florida,” is heading due west. The talk-worthy culinary star hasn’t yet named his new Dallas restaurant, but we know a couple of important things.
1. The restaurant will serve upscale modern Mexican cuisine. Mmm.
2. The restaurant will be situated inside Renaissance Dallas.
Slated to open its doors mid-January, the restaurant will dress up Mexican food in a way that’s sure to leave Renaissance guests and Dallas diners hungry for more.
In a recent Dallas Observer blog, Max discussed his vision for the food: “I’m going to try to do a different spin, more original to what you’d get in Oaxaca,” said Max. “I don’t want it just to be rice and beans with melted cheese.”
And for that, Mr. Dean James Max, we salute you. Usually we’d encourage the excessive use of cheese on, well, just about anything. But hey, it sounds like you know what you’re doing… so bring on the top-notch Mexican grub.
